"I cried a tear last night, I cried, I've never felt so blue Cause last night I wrote a letter dear, to you 'Dear dad', it said, 'I miss you so, mum said there was a war And you had to go, I didn't understand what she meant by war But I do understand that you had to go away so far Dad, mum says that I look like you, that made me feel good Mum's kind of sad now, she doesn't laugh anymore And she always seems sacred when there's a knock at our door A man in a uniform came over last night, mum started crying... Oh I cried a tear last night, god help me... There was a war and you had to go And you won't come home again"
