Luther Elmer White Jr. (born 27 May 1930 in Blaine, Tennessee; died 7 September 2004 at his home in Hendersonville, Tennessee, aged 74) was an American country and bluegrass fiddler, singer and songwriter who turned professional in 1949 and played in turn with Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys, Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper and the Osborne Brothers. He wrote or co-wrote more than two hundred recorded songs, most of them for Conway Twitty, for whom he also founded and managed the publishing companies, and he took a Grammy as co-writer of 'After the Fire Is Gone', the Twitty and Loretta Lynn duet; he…
