Annotation

Duane Peters - well-known Punk Rock artist from the group U.S. Bombs, based in Los Angeles, California, USA. The song "In Vietnam" (Disaster Records # Disaster 9005) looked at a disabled Vietnam veteran: "36 years in a wheelchair, lost his leg in Da Nang", who was mistreated on his return to the US: "mud thrown on his face" - this can be considered a reference to the famous "spitting image", although no actual incidents have been documented, and this is considered to be a myth. (1) (2) The song also continued the post-war trend of referencing Agent Orange: "Agent Orange is killing you" - the defoliant / herbicide used by U.S. forces during the Vietnam War, which had long term negative health effects on the Vietnamese and US soldier whom came into contact with the chemical.
