But the narrator tells the listener that "I'm out here in this hole and rain", as he sadly wondered how a man can make it in the world "when the army calls you". Timmy Norman was a soul singer who cut four sides for Bronze Records in the mid-1960s, all composed by Bobby Darnell, backed by The O'Jahs/Fabulous Odahs; "I'm Coming Home" (Bronze 106) is described by Sir Shambling's Deep Soul Heaven as a powerful "Soul of Vietnam" piece. He also cut "Let It All Hang Out" b/w "Roadside 75" (Sound Stage 7 45-2599, 1967) and recorded for Fame in 1973 as Tim Norman. No birth or death information was located.
