The country music song "I Want Daddy for Mommy (And Me This Christmas)" (Farrall Records # FAR-45-698) by Don Vest looked at the impact of the war at home. Released in Louisville, Kentucky in 1965 on Farrall, owned by Murrell Farmer and Thomas Allen. A man narrated a letter written by his grand-daughter to Santa Clause, asking him to bring home her father who was fighting in Vietnam "protecting mommy and me" - so it also included a small patriotic line about the role of the soldier.
