Annotation
Roger McGuinn, born 13 July 1942 in Chicago, Illionis, USA, is a well-known singer/songwriter, and guitarist with the popular 60s group The Byrds. He was also a member of the Chad Mitchell Trio. The title of the song "Hannoi Hannah" (Columbia Records # C-31946) referred to the North Vietnamese radio personality Hanoi Hannah who broadcast English language propaganda for North Vietnam during the war. (1) The narrator discussed the impact of the war, and noted the drug culture: "never would have thought I'd get so lost out here, smokin' marijuana and a-drinkin' beer".
