About the artist
Red Shadow, "the Economics Rock & Roll Band", was a 1970s US novelty act of professional economists. "Gone Gone Gone" is track B2 on the 1975 LP "Live at the Panacea Hilton" (Physical Records PR21-005, US) - a parody of the Beach Boys' "Fun Fun Fun" with left-wing labor-movement lyrics; despite the title the album was recorded at Studio B, Boston. A second album, "Better Red", followed in 1978. Collector accounts (unsanctioned) identify the trio as economists Stephan Michelson, Ev Ehrlich and Dan Luria, who met at the University of Michigan in the early 1970s; Michelson died in 2025 per a…
