God Please Protect America (Weed, Seymore) Country music. Patriotic. The original was written in 1950 by Jimmie Osbourne, about the Korean War. Charlie Moore & Bill Napier reworded it in 1966 on their album Country Music Goes to Viet Nam: "god please protect America...we need the hand of god....give us victory in Vietnam". This version does not mention a particular war - but released in Vietnam era. (1)
