Go Home, Letter (I Wish I Were You) (Barber, Glenn) Country. Originally written and released in 1959 - pre-Vietnam. He re-recorded the song and released it in 1966. Soldier at war wanted to write a 'go home' letter to his family. "Go home letter, I wish I was you Go tell a-my baby, that I miss her so Go home letter, I want her to know Go-go-go little letter, say-say-say that it won’t be long Fly-fly-fly little letter, say-say-say that I’ll be home Go tell a-my baby, that I miss her so Go home letter, I wish I was you"
