Lenore Guinzburg Marshall (born 7 September 1899 in New York City; died 23 September 1971 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, aged 72) was an American poet, novelist, editor and peace activist who worked as an editor at Cape and Smith between 1929 and 1932, where she was instrumental in securing publication of William Faulkner's 'The Sound and the Fury', and whose verse and prose appeared in Harper's and The New Yorker. She founded the Writers' League Against Lynching, co-founded the National Committee for a Sane Nuclear Policy (SANE) with Norman Cousins in 1956, went on to the Committee for Nuclear…
