Fightin' for the Free Land (Wyatt, Gene) Country, patriotic, anti-protest. Draft card burning. Nashville, Tennessee. Baby doesn't know father has died in the war so we can be free (WW2). Now grown: must go fight in the Cold War (Vietnam?). But mother receives a telegram: killed in action (KIA). Demonstrators on the street and draft card burners must learn from this story. The boy did his duty for the country

About the artist
Gene Wyatt was an American country and rockabilly singer active from 1957 to about 1974, recording for Ebb (1957), Lucky Seven (1958), Columbia (a 1962 Nashville session), Aetna (1964), Dollie and Mercury (1967), sometimes billed with the Peermonts or with Reuben Bell and Band; demo material was later compiled on White Label. RCS describes him as a Shreveport, Louisiana artist and records his death in 1979. "Fightin' for the Free Land" was issued on Dollie D 502 around 1966, backed with 'Searching for a New Love Affair'.
