The song "Does Anybody Know I'm Here" (Cadet Records # 5631) by the 50s / 60s soul / R&B group the Dells, from Harvey, Illinois, was about a soldier "in a foreign land" - Vietnam? Germany? The soldier wondered if the people back home had forgotten about him. It represented the homesick soldier. It also suggested that the soldier did not want to be there. The song was written and produced by Bobby Miller, and arranged by Charles Stepney - both working for Chess Records (of which Cadet Records was a sub-label).
