As noted above, the Ramones were one of the most influential American punk rock bands, formed on 27 January 1974, in Queens, New York, USA. The punk pioneers released the song "Commando" (Sire Records # SA 7528) on their second album, in the post-war period. The song attacked the government / military / state for preparing people for war: "get them ready for Vietnam, from Old Hanoi to East Berlin". It contained Cold War references, such as anti-communism in the US.
