Gog Seidl, also known as Gottfried Seidl-Carusa, born in Saalfelden, in the Salzburg region, Austria. He is currently located in Munich, Germany (1). He released the aid / charity pop rock song "Cap Anamur", in support of the "Vietnamese boat people", or "boat people", referencing to Vietnamese refugees who fled the country following the collapse of South Vietnam in 1975, a migration and humanitarian crisis in the late 70s. 800,000 people are thought to have made it to other countries, via boat, while the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, estimates that between 200,000 and 400,000 boat people died at sea. (1). Cap Anamur is a reference to the humanitarian organisation set-up to help refugees. In 1979, the group charted a freighter, named Cap Anamur, to rescue Vietnamese refugees. According to sources, "10,375 boat people were rescued on the open sea and an additional 35,000 were medically treated". (2) The song tells the story of "Kim To, from Saigon" who following his "rotten brother's victory", must leave the country: "I have no choice, must leave Vietnam".
