Annotation
Just like the famous Becky Lamb, the song "Big Brother (Home for Christmas)" (New Star Records # NS 129) featured a child narrator whose older brother fought in Vietnam. The tune "Silent Night" played in the background. This can be classified as an anti-war song, as the child's mother prayed each night "to bring this terrible war to a close" and for god to "show our president the light". The child also told the listener that his neighbour "burned his draft card under a...Christmas tree" - while the narrator did not state a view on this, it created an interesting image or symbol, possible leaning towards a message of protest.
