Pop rock artist Lenny Kravitz, born 26 May 1964 in Manhattan, New York, USA. The song "Back in Vietnam" (Virgin Records # 509995 2036521) was a protest against the Iraq War. The use of Vietnam is an indication of the long-standing cultural / political impact of the 60s / 70s conflict, still providing a point of comparison to contemporary conflicts. Kravitz criticised the West for an "illegal" war: "we do just what we want and don't care if it isn't legal".
