"Army Bound" by Lois and Karen, otherwise known as The Sherry Sisters (a 60s girl-group) was a "soldier boy" type of song. Unclear whether the soldier was drafted or volunteered. "We're standing at the station now, with one minute left For a long time to come I will remember today... Our first real goodbye since we met For you are army bound, yes you are army bound But my heart is still bound to you No matter will you go, I'm hoping that you know That my heart will be there too... About the artist
Lois & Karen were the American pop-vocal duo Lois and Karen Sherry, later billed as the Sherry Sisters, who both wrote and performed their own material - Karen supplying lyrics and Lois, a composition student, the music. They recorded in several languages and represented the United States at international song festivals in Bogotá and Tokyo before Karen left performing for music administration. "Army Bound", which the sisters wrote themselves, was issued on Epic 5-10188 in 1967, produced by Ettore Stratta with arrangement and conducting by David Rhodes, backed with 'Go On! Go On!'. [Source…
