The protest song "American Eagle Tragedy" (Elektra Records # EK-45636) by the Boston psychedelic band Earth Opera, composed by Peter Rowan, referred to boys being sent to die in a "foreign jungle war", and called for an end to the conflict. It also appeared on their second album The Great American Eagle Tragedy from 1969:
