About the artist
The Living Strings were a studio orchestra founded in 1959 by RCA Victor to make easy-listening records for its budget subsidiary RCA Camden. The ensemble had no permanent personnel: musicians were assembled for each project, and although sessions were held in Hollywood, Nashville and New York, most of the recordings were made by players drawn from various British orchestras, with further sessions in Mexico, Germany and elsewhere. Johnny Douglas was a principal arranger and conductor. Their instrumental treatment of Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant" was the title track of the album 'Living…
