Annotation — Peace, Protest, & Anti-War Songs [War Years]
A speech titled "A Manifesto of Belief in Man" , delivered at the University of California at Berkeley, on 15 October 1965, by M.S. Arnoni, the editor of the pacifist, anti-Vietnam War magazine Minority of One - its mission statement said: "An independent monthly for an American alternative, dedicated to the eradication of all restrictions of thought." As can be seen from the picture on the cover art, Arnoni turned up for this Berkley speech (as well as for the teach-in in May 1965) in a Nazi made prisoner-of-war uniform - he actually spent time in many concentration camps during the Second World War as a Jew from Poland. (1) "In the present life-and-death struggle of the Vietnamese people, there must be among America's youth some who are sufficiently sensitive to justice, sufficiently outraged by the conscienceless actions of their government, and sufficiently courageous, to join the people of Vietnam in their heroic self-defense"
