Notes

"S.O.S. Boat People": Carrere / Lazer 50040 (made in France, ℗ 1985 SUISA; réalisation Varelas Productions, Fribourg; recorded by Dario Scazziga at Scafe Records), a benefit single for Médecins du Monde: "Ils sont partis" 3:17 on face A, "Liberté" on face B, words and music by Michel Ducarroz, sung by La Chanson des Quatre Saisons of Corminbœuf with Théo Aeby as soloist. The back sleeve explains the cause — one centilitre of water a day from a refugee boat's makeshift still, November 1984 in the South China Sea; 25,000 people crossed the previous year and 17,000 disappeared, about 35 per cent of them children; for nearly forty days Médecins du Monde sent the French oceanographic ship Jean Charcot, with a naval escort lent by the government, and 540 people were saved — and gives the UBS Geneva account of the Comité Suisse de Coordination pour l'Aide aux Boat People en Mer de Chine.
